NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Award-winning singer-songwriter Lee Newtoncontinues to celebrate country music’s rich legacy with the official music video for her collaboration with Georgette Jones and Heidi Parton on the classic “Silver Threads and Golden Needles.” Released earlier this year, the single brings together these three ladies for a fresh take on a timeless song. Originally recorded in 1956 by rockabilly pioneer Wanda Jackson and later released by Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lynn, “Silver Threads and Golden Needles” has long been recognized as an anthem of strength and independence. Now, Lee Newton, Georgette Jones, and Heidi Parton breathe new life into the classic while honoring the women who helped make it a country music standard.
The “Silver Threads & Golden Needles” music video features cameos from John Berry, John McEuen, The Malpass Brothers, Leon Everette, Duane Allen and William Lee Golden of The Oak Ridge Boys, Ronnie McDowell, Jimmy Fortune, Confederate Railroad, Marty Raybon, T. Graham Brown, The Moonshiners, Artimus Pyle, and more will air on American Country Network today at 1:40 PM ET and again at 7:19 PM ET before continuing to air regularly on the network. It also premiered digitally by The Country Network.
“Recording ‘Silver Threads & Golden Needles’ with Heidi Parton and Georgette Jones has truly been a dream come true. From the very beginning, our friendship, personalities, and voices just fit together so naturally, making this project even more special. Watching the song come to life, then seeing the music video come together with nearly 20 incredible cameo appearances from people we’ve admired for years, has been unforgettable. We hope everyone loves it as much as we loved creating it.” — Lee Newton
