NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Singer-songwriter Stephanie Rabus is excited to release her new single, “Payback’s A Beach,” available today. The song, which was premiered by The Music Universe, was written by Rabus alongside Mark Roma and Corey Lee Barker and offers a fresh, lighthearted take on heartbreak and getting even. Rather than dwelling on a painful breakup, “Payback’s A Beach” embraces the idea that when love goes wrong, especially in the face of betrayal, sometimes the best revenge is simply living well, moving on, and enjoying life, and perhaps a little beach therapy.

“My dad calls this song “Calypso Country,” laughs Rabus. “It’s a fun summer song that’s also a breakup song, which blends margaritas, cabana boys and carefree mentalities, where you let nothing, even a breakup, get in the way. There is a line, “There’s something about this million dollar ocean view” that resonates with just about everyone! The ocean is the cure to almost everything! I hope you enjoy.”

Lyrics For “Paybacks A Beach”

I saw your missed calls but I wasn’t in a hurry

Been way too busy soaking up these sun ray flurries

I’m done pretending I don’t know what you’ve been doing

But these lovely folks in Cabo are helping me get through it

Baby payback's a beach

I’m margarita rich and worry free

Cabana boys are looking hotter

Chiseled bodies in the water

All bronzed up and calling out to me

Payback’s a beach

There’s something bout this million dollar ocean view

That makes it impossible to not be over you

Right now I’m loving that you hate that you got caught

Hey thanks for the ticket that you didn’t know you bought

Baby payback’s a beach

I’m margarita rich and worry free

Cabana boys are looking hotter

Chiseled bodies in the water

All bronzed up and calling out to me

Payback’s a beach

About Stephanie Rabus

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Stephanie Rabus discovered her voice at an early age, finding confidence and strength through music while navigating childhood health challenges and insecurities. After her family spent several years in Arizona, Stephanie began singing as a way to overcome her self-consciousness. Her talent was first discovered when she spontaneously sang “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid for her parents, leading to years of vocal practice, school talent shows, and choir.

At 21, Stephanie joined her first band, with her father behind the drums, beginning a musical journey that would eventually lead her to the popular St. Louis-based band Borderline. Now based in Nashville, Stephanie continues to travel between Nashville and St. Louis while building her career as a solo artist. Drawing inspiration from artists including Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, Pat Benatar, and Evanescence, she blends country, pop, soul, and rock into a sound that is both powerful and distinctive. Her latest release, “Payback’s A Beach,” showcases that signature mix of grit, energy, and heart. Throughout her career, Stephanie has shared the stage with national acts including Bryan White, Toby Keith, Lonestar, Little Texas, Lee Brice, Cassadee Pope, Tyler Farr, and Lindsey Ell.
