STEPHANIE RABUS
Stephanie Rabus was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but found her voice after her family spent a few years in Arizona—when singing became more than fun; it became her way through childhood insecurities. She dealt with a cross eye (corrected with surgery at 15), a heart condition (corrected at 11), and the kind of self-consciousness that can make a kid want to disappear. Instead, she sang.
The year her parents truly discovered her talent, it happened almost by accident. Her dad was jamming next door with an Elvis impersonator—he was the guy’s drummer—when Stephanie asked if she could sing. Then she launched into “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid and absolutely belted it. Her parents were stunned. Soon there was a karaoke machine in the house, a stack of cassettes, and a daily after-school routine: practice, practice, practice—plus talent shows and choir from grade school through high school.
At 21, she joined her first band—with her dad on drums—kicking off a path that eventually led her to the popular St. Louis-based band Borderline. Later, she made the move to Nashville, and she still logs the miles back and forth to St. Louis to keep it all moving.
Pulling from powerhouse influences like Martina McBride and Shania Twain, Whitney Houston and Kelly Clarkson, and the edge of Pat Benatar and Evanescence, Stephanie carved out a style that blends country, pop, soul, and rock—equal parts grit and glow. You can hear that mix front and center in her latest release, “Payback's A Beach"
Along the way, she’s shared stages with national acts including Bryan White, Toby Keith, Lonestar, Little Texas, Lee Brice, Cassadee Pope, Tyler Farr, and Lindsey Ell—often backed by Borderline, the band that’s been part of her story for the long haul.
